Seed / Cultivate

Hello LWA Seekers of Greater Well-BEing!

The more I pursue wellness, the more I embrace the concept of: “I AM WHAT I THINK!”  Recurring THOUGHTS lead to BELIEFS which lead to FEELINGS and ACTIONS, leading to HABITS.  Thoughts become THINGS.  Thoughts become EVENTS.  That’s the way it works!  We create a world of health, happiness, abundance (or NOT) with our thoughts which are directing all our actions and outcomes in all aspects of our lives: Physically, Emotionally, Socially, Financially, and Spiritually.  We are not just victims of circumstances.  We can create circumstances – with our thinking.

Analogy:  If a gardener wants cantaloupes, she must plant cantaloupe seeds.  Inside those seeds are everything to make great cantaloupes -  IF she plants in good soil, waters, cultivates, gets rid of weeds.  Your THOUGHTS are like seeds.  The Brain is fertile soil for us to plant great thoughts and have the life we were created to experience.  Question:  What kind of seeds are you planting in your amazing brain?  Negative seeds (thoughts) lead to negative outcomes:  WEEDS! You can’t create abundance from lack (WEEDS).  Positive seeding (thinking) that is nourished, cultivated, watched over, leads to bountiful outcomes: abundance.  We must:

  • CONSCIOUSLY seed positive thoughts and

  • CONSCIOUSLY weed out the Ego’s continuous negative thoughts of fear, lack, inadequacy, doubt, unworthiness, etc. 

It all starts with a seed, a thought.  This concept is so powerful that I immediately QUESTION any negative thoughts.  They serve no useful purpose.  They are destructive.  Yes, I get it.  It’s difficult to eliminate the negative and always be positive.  Just like it’s difficult to keep a garden free of weeds.  It takes work, PERSISTENCE, AWARENESS.  The weeds (negative thoughts) serve no useful purpose.  They need to be eliminated, one by one, to yield a garden of abundance. 

When left unattended – for decades – our brain can be overgrown with negative thoughts especially since that’s the focus of much of what we read / hear in the media:  the bad news.  There’s a reason I don’t have a TV service in my house.  There’s a reason I don’t focus on negative news, negative blogs, negative books, negative people.  All this negativity can lead to what we refer to in LWA as an SLBS (self-limiting belief system).  Now, the EGO does not like change or being told it’s wrong.  It’s sold on the status quo.  It must be consciously convinced, repeatedly, that there’s a better way, that this way is NOT working.  The Good News:  You don’t have to tackle all the weeds at once.  You can begin by tackling a few of the weeds at a time.  It helps to hang with positive people who are in a growth mindset, who are also working to BE a better version.  By tending your brain’s garden, it will start to bear forth good results and encourage us to continue the weeding and plant more good seeds (thoughts).  It needs constant attention.

How do you SEED your brain for SUCCESS?  CONSCIOUSLY!  THINK POSITIVE!  How can you have abundance when you focus on lack?  How can you have health when you focus on ailments, difficulties.  SEED thoughts of health, happiness, success.  Fill your brain with thoughts of what you want, NOT what you currently have or don’t want.  You brain doesn’t know the difference!  If you keep thinking (seeding) health, happiness, great relationships, success, and abundance, your brain will find ways to make it happen.  That’s the way the mechanism works.  Our Problem:  We don’t understand the mechanism and have lost control of its POWER, POTENTIAL, PURPOSE.  It was designed to BE for us, not against us.

The ANSWET: Don’t be realistic.  BE UNREALISTIC!  Think amazing health, happiness, relationships, success in pursuing a goal / talent.  Imagine you already have it - NOW.  SERIOUSLY!  The brain doesn’t know the difference. To change the outside, WORK ON THE INSIDE.  Folks, this is the way the system works.  There’s a reason that EVERY day I turn the world off, go to my quiet place, and visualize, imagine, meditate.  EVERY day I visualize the Future Me in all aspects of my life – P E S F S. I make a concerted effort to turn off my left survival Ego brain and all its worries, inadequacies, fears, lack, doubt, things that need to be done.  I turn on my right Inner Spirit brain directed by the Divine where I am unlimited, limitless in all the gifts, opportunities, possibilities available to me.  I seed thoughts of peace, joy, success in fulfilling my mission.  I’m unrealistic! I consciously visualize heaven on earth – my birthright.  I take ownership and ask for help.  I ask for opportunities, for doors to open, for me to BE the person I was created to fulfill my mission.  I declare that I will SEEK OUT opportunities.  I will find people to help me.  I will not give up. 

And guess what?  The system works. What I visualize and believe directs my thoughts and actions throughout the day.  I visualize healthy leading to healthy decisions.  I visualize love for all and am more patient and understanding.  I visualize success in fulfilling my mission and doors open to new opportunities for me to help more people.  I have learned NOT to argue with reality, but instead to deal with reality.  I often find that what I thought were undesirable outcomes or impossible situations were really opportunities for me to improve.  We can’t get better without challenges.  Obstacles are Opportunities.  QUESTION EVERYTHING!  Once again, to quote Thomas Edison: “I haven’t failed.  I’ve just found 10,000 ways that didn’t work.”  

Our brain is amazing – if we understand its operating system, how it can be reprogrammed for health and happiness. It’s like a garden.  Plant beautiful seeds, cultivate, and watch great things grow.  Remember, it takes time for that seed buried in the ground to slowly sprout and begin to make an appearance eventually bearing fruit.  Seed your mind with beautiful thoughts, cultivate those thoughts with actions, be persistent.  Create your garden of health and happiness.  BLOOM! That’s living WELL aware!
