Living WELL Aware: My Choices, My Life is an adolescent health and wellness curriculum developed by physicians Patricia J. Sulak, MD and Jeffrey A. Waxman, MD. It is a medically accurate, holistic program emphasizing overall wellness, including physical, emotional, mental, and social health, while addressing topics like human development, relationships, risky behaviors, and personal choices.The curriculum promotes healthy decision-making, abstinence-based approaches to sexuality, and lifelong wellness priorities. It includes lessons on essential human needs, body health, physical/mental wellness, goal planning, avoiding dangers (e.g., drugs, violence, digital risks, bullying, sexual abuse/sex trafficking), and more, aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for health education. It features videos for both students and parents/guardians, making it easy to implement in schools with transparency. We are excited to announce that the adolescent health curriculum developed by Living WELL Aware co-founders Patricia J. Sulak, MD and Jeffrey A. Waxman, MD is now available. Dr. Sulak has been involved in adolescent health since 1995 and has authored previous curricula used throughout Texas and beyond entitled Scott & White Worth the Wait and Baylor Scott & White Health Wellness and Sexual Health. The newly released 8th Edition has 3 levels (6th, 7th, 8th grade) and is being implemented in numerous school districts under the new name: Living WELL Aware: My Choices, My Life.
