Are You a “FIRST CLASS” Traveler?
Hello LWA Seekers of Greater Well-Being!
Got to share this. I received a follow-up thank-you email from an LWA Cedarbrake Conference participant who’d flown in from Michigan to attend the retreat. I honored her for traveling such a long distance, committing to elevating her well-being. She told me she’d splurged and flown First Class because she deserved it
It got me thinking. We should all desire to travel life First Class: Physically, Emotionally, Socially, Financially, and Spiritually. The PROBLEM: we neglect key aspects of our lives. We get so focused on a “First Class” social or financial life that we end up in a suboptimal class physically and emotionally – “boarding” last, stuck in the middle seat, flying in the coach class of life. We spend time at Costco or Sam’s hunting bargains, when the real bargains in life aren’t found there. Or we get so immersed in planning the next trip, getaway, or family event (FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out) that we miss the chance to improve our own health and happiness. Are you catching what I’m throwing?
In my previous career, I flew First Class all over the world, paid big bucks to talk about my research on innovative strategies to improve women’s health, staying at luxury hotels in dream locations. Reality: I was NOT leading a “First Class” life. My physical, emotional, and spiritual life were taking a back seat. In 2008, at my husband’s insistence, we began changing our “travel” plans, deciding to upgrade to First Class in ALL aspects of life. Doing so meant investing in our well-being. Importantly, our spiritual life, the Divine, became our pilot, directing us in every other aspect. To travel First Class is to have “…. on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
Let’s not get caught up in FOMO. I’m not worried about missing an occasional trip, family, or social event. I’m more concerned about how I “Show Up” daily as a better version: a better wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, coworker. Ask yourself: Is my life First Class? Where do I need to work to show up as my best version? What do I need to do? Who can help me?
Travel a Living WELL Aware First Class Life! Show up every day by working on BEing:
Physically vibrant, strong, balanced, flexible.
Emotionally sound, meeting life’s unexpected, unwanted events with ease.
Socially, journeying with people who support you and CHALLENGE you.
Spiritually devoted to and directed by the Divine, in a state of Peace and Joy!
It’s not the number of “friends” on Facebook, the number of events or titles, or the bottom line of our financial portfolio. It’s our state of well-being, our wholeness.
