My Bravest Thing

Hello LWA Seekers of Greater Well-BEing!

I was driving down 57th Street in Temple, Texas and came across this billboard of Jamie Lee Curtis: “My bravest thing?  Getting sober.”  WOW! Whether you like JLC or not, for her to not only get sober but share it to inspire others is truly remarkable.  It made me think of many people I personally know who have shared their “bravest thing” with me:

  • Taking ownership of their life and losing 100 pounds

  • Going from couch potato to avid fitness enthusiast and becoming a certified yoga instructor

  • Dumping all sorts of addictions: alcohol, gambling, pornography, tobacco, shopping

You might be saying: “Well, I don’t have any of those issues.”  So, what is the “bravest thing” you can do now?  Maybe it’s:

  • Truly forgiving someone who treated you unfairly.

  • Pursuing a talent / mission that you have been fearful to take on because of thoughts of failure.

  • Letting go of the past, dumping guilt and blame, and living in the Divine present moment, worthy of a life of peace and joy.

  • Leaving a lucrative career / business to live a life of peace, joy, and success by helping others.

  • Asking for HELP.

For me, the bravest thing:  continuously SEARCHING my subconscious SLBS (Self-Limiting Belief System), a belief system that can think I’m either “better” than others or “not good enough” - judging, comparing, not feeling appreciated, focusing on lack, wanting things to go as “I” planned.  FYI:  This is ALL of us - - it’s just that only a few are “brave” enough to admit this and search for the TRUTH:  We create our misery, our suffering.  We can create a better life.  How?  QUESTION EVERYTHING (our SLBS).  RETAIN WHAT IS GOOD.

Most people will never seek, define, and address the root cause of their problems: their SLBS.  Their Ego will not allow it, convincing them that they’re “fine”, keep trudging along, life was meant to be difficult / stressful, the medications are getting me through life, I’m doing all I need to do, just keep moving / eating healthy.  And so it is.

How about you?  What’s the “bravest thing” you could take on right now to get closer to that amazing life of peace, joy, and success you were created to experience?  Maybe it’s surrendering and asking for help.  Maybe you’re like me and need to discover your hidden SLBS through an immersion which requires getting away from this overconnected world.  Now, that’s living WELL aware.

ONWARD, bravely!
